Time keeps going full throttle and we all have to run to keep up.  For several years between the COVID shutdowns and the sudden death of my oldest son Blake I was rocked hard. Thanks to the many parents I've worked with who have lost children I understood that what I was going through was normal for this horrible life experience.  It's a pain of such magnitude that you don't expect to live through it.

I learned to adjust to it as I faced the fact that the pain will never stop. 

Right now I'm able to say I am better adjusted but I agree with the parents who stood by me on my Facebook page as I went through it that it does not go away but you learn to survive it.

I worked through the pandemic and my personal tragedy because there were so many people still needing my help and that made me keep going. 

Now in 2025 I'm busy with work and raising Herbie II my new black Lab puppy who is so smart, naughty, and big!  I am not short of exercise or laughter.  He is a clown puppy just as the first Herbie was.

I wasn't sure I could handle a puppy again, and it was way more work than I expected but it is good for me as he takes a lot of attention to keep him from making mistakes like swiping a small piece of chocolate!

I dropped it, and he inhaled it so fast I had no chance to get it away from him.  Luckily the vet said he would have to eat a lot more of it than one tiny piece. 

I'm getting introduced to podcasting and a lot of other things and I'm sure I will use some of these new methods of communication as I get the right equipment.

One thing I don't need new equipment for is writing my third book.  It is moving along well and I plan on polishing it even more before selling it.  Like my other books I share my career and life openly with you.  I look forward to getting it finished. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my writing, so polishing takes longer.  I'm so glad to get my website back up and working so I can update it. We had some challenging technical issues recently that just got ironed out so now I can bring it up to date.

Right now many of us are struggling with developments that are new and not pleasant.  I believe that we can come through this and make life better for all of us. The shutdown is hard so are the tariff changes, and job losses.  I do see that our country will survive this even though it's scary going through it.

We all came together after 9/11 and made good changes. We need to remind ourselves of those times and the pandemic too.  We're a lot stronger than people expect us to be when we unite as we did after the 9/11 attacks. I believe our leadership on all sides needs to catch up with our strength and insist that things be done correctly respecting our laws and the  people.  We all need to work to show the next generations that truth and honor still matter and should be important to everyone.

I look forward to working with you for many years to come.  Right now I'm bracing for winter as I grew up in warm places all over the world while my Father worked for the US State Department.
